I'm someone who figured out bookkeeping and financial organization as an entrepreneur, then spent years helping businesses and nonprofits do the same. I've formalized some of this knowledge through the Self-Employment Program at Douglas College and Accounting for Managers at BCIT. But it was running my own business and then doing bookkeeping for my employers and clients that taught me what really matters: having a clear, simple system you actually understand and use.
Since then I've done bookkeeping for various individuals with small businesses, set up QuickBooks systems from scratch, and helped people dig out from years of catch-up work. I built the My Money Organizer spreadsheet tool because I wanted something that worked the way real people think about money.
My goal is always to work myself out of a job. The sooner you're running your own books with confidence, the better I've done mine.
Learned bookkeeping by doing it for my own business — I know what it's like in the trenches
Former account manager and licensed securities representative — finance isn't new territory
My goal is to teach you to do this yourself — not to keep you relying on me
Familiar with Canadian tax context — GST, CRA requirements, sole proprietor specifics
No commitment, no pressure. We'll talk through your situation, figure out what makes sense, and I'll give you an honest answer about whether I can help.
